Julie Godfrey

Julie Godfrey brings over three decades of experience in commercial construction and project management, with a career spanning some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Holding dual degrees in Management Science and Building Construction from Georgia Tech, she combines deep field experience with executive-level oversight offering clients a well-rounded, strategic perspective on every engagement.

A career-defining highlight was Julie’s role as Contract Administrator for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s 750,000 square foot headquarters, a landmark facility designed through a collaboration between Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart & Associates and internationally acclaimed architect Robert A.M. Stern. The project demanded precision coordination, strict adherence to federal security protocols, and seamless execution across disciplines. Julie played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of this architecturally significant and institutionally critical facility.

Following this, Julie served as Program Manager for, what was, the largest bank merger in U.S. history, the integration of CoreStates Bank and First Union. She oversaw all aspects of construction, relocation, and decommissioning across the Mid-Atlantic region, which included relocating over 12,000 employees, managing the construction of a new check processing center in Philadelphia, and coordinating the consolidation and closure of dozens of branch locations. The scope and complexity of this effort showcased Julie’s strengths in logistics, strategic planning, and high-volume execution under pressure.

Earlier in her career at Beers Construction in Atlanta, Julie held a construction management agency role at Peachtree Center, a major mixed-use development comprising four office towers totaling 1.5 million square feet, plus an additional 1 million square feet of retail and parking. She also managed a challenging sprinkler retrofit and asbestos abatement project across fully occupied buildings. Additionally, she served in a CM at Risk capacity on the Equitable Building, a 600,000+ square foot office tower in downtown Atlanta.

Julie’s diverse background representing owners, tenants, and serving as a general contractor gives her unique insight into the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects.

In 2004, Julie and her family relocated to Westerville, Ohio to be closer to her family. The move marked a return to her roots.  Julie is the daughter of a local contractor and developer and was proud to continue the family tradition of building in her home community. In 2005, Julie was selected by the owners of Grubb & Ellis in Columbus to launch their in-house construction division focused on tenant improvements. In 2007, she was brought in to stabilize and reposition another commercial construction firm.

With the encouragement of her husband, Julie and Allen founded CM Collaborative on November 9, 2012. Since then, the firm has become a trusted partner throughout Central Ohio and beyond, known for delivering value-driven, collaborative construction solutions rooted in deep experience, transparency, and long-standing client relationships.
